lose mail. I have no idea why yet and I haven't had chance to debug it. I'm pretty frustrated by this issue. It seems to work fine for a while and eventually start failing in very very weird ways (mostly to do with
return codes/strings being truncated or having CRs added to them).

Sorry to resurrect this old thread but I've been keeping an eye out for
this "lost mail" problem since I had just upgraded to the latest trunk
when I saw your message (I'm using the poll server). I haven't noticed anything out of the ordinary though. I'm not using any standard plugins.

As I'm running this on a spam feed the occasional lost message isn't
going to be noticed. Do you have any pointers on what to look for?

No, but people tell me "oh my mail didn't get through" or something like that. And I occasionally test it from remote and I get very very weird bounces.

I don't see this on either of our spamtraps though, and they run pretty much trunk too, so I suspect either a rogue plugin (I have one called matt_as, which does most of my anti-spam) or something to do with alarm() maybe. Either way it's very odd, and not something I'm comfortable with people running in a mission critical environment. I'm thinking of moving trunk back to a branch, and swapping in 0.3x (or wherever we're developing off) back into trunk.

I'm also seriously wondering if Apache::Qpsmtpd might not give me pretty damn good performance too. Hard to say.

Matt.
