Hi Rex, We've been doing our IT exams online for a while now and simply set up the exam as a form in Word, which lets you have drop down boxes for multiple choice questions, etc.
We experimented with a few ideas (and still are) and have found that it works best if you have a separate exam account login for each child. At the end of the exam copy these to a write only location that students can't access so you have a copy of them. Some people like to lock the exam accounts after the exam. I like to have control of the exam accounts because there are usually students who have to do the exam at different times - I can put exams in the accounts and take them out as needed. If you give them Internet access during an exam you have to be extremely vigilant in your supervision. It can be done but it's difficult to ensure the integrity of the exam. What I am thinking about doing this term is having the students do the written exam (on programming) in a computer room, using Word, and using the on-line version of Structorizer to do their NS-Diagrams, or at least the more complex ones. The students will be using separate exam accounts and not their own school accounts, and will need Internet access to use Structorizer. Has anyone does this before? Can anyone see any problems that might arise? Cheers Rex --- You are currently subscribed to qsiteict as: [email protected].
