Hi Stuntman,

That was another good case of 'Media Bias' going on.  John Leo wrote, "Barack Obama, the impressive new African-American star of the Democratic Party, told us how blue-state Americans "worship an awesome God," the implication being that Democrats generally are deeply committed to religion and overcome by the power and majesty of God. Even semi-alert people who follow politics with one eye shut know this isn't really the case. As umpteen scholars have pointed out, the Democrats are morphing into a secular, or nonbelieving party, while the most fervent nonminority Christians are moving into the Republican column."

Even semi-alert journalists who follow politics with one eye shut know this isn't really what Obama was saying IF they'd read the entire quote.

Obama: "There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America.

The pundits, the pundits like to slice and dice our country into red states and blue States: red states for Republicans, blue States for Democrats. But I've got news for them, too. We worship an awesome God in the blue states, and we don't like federal agents poking around our libraries in the red states."

It seems to me that the "We" Obama is speaking of is both Republicans and Democrats from every state, red and blue.

Leo further observes that, "Obama's second heresy was to announce that "there is not a black America and a white America and Latino America and Asian America. There's the United States of America." This was a not-very-credible repudiation of the politics of multiculturalism and separatism that Democrats have been busy forcing into the schools and into the law, often while expressing contempt for assimilation and the one-America ideal that Obama celebrated in his talk."

Multiculturalism?  separatism?  expressing contempt for assimilation?  Does Mr. Leo mean Democrats don't believe in intolerance for children in schools or in U.S. Forces sharing the bleeding that goes with war with other cultures?  Or is he one of "those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes."

Again I'll let Obama's words speak for him.

Obama: "If there's a child on the south side of Chicago who can't read, that matters to me, even if it's not my child.

If there's a senior citizen somewhere who can't pay for their prescription and having to choose between medicine and the rent, that makes my life poorer, even if it's not my grandparent.

If there's an Arab-American family being rounded up without benefit of an attorney or due process, that threatens my civil liberties.

It is that fundamental belief -- it is that fundamental belief -- I am my brother's keeper, I am my sisters' keeper -- that makes this country work.

It's what allows us to pursue our individual dreams, yet still come together as a single American family: "E pluribus unum," out of many, one.

Now even as we speak, there are those who are preparing to divide us, the spin masters and negative ad peddlers who embrace the politics of anything goes.

Well, I say to them tonight, there's not a liberal America and a conservative America; there's the United States of America.

There's not a black America and white America and Latino America and Asian America; there's the United States of America."

Just trying to pay attention to all the words.  That's why she is called the "United States of America"!

With Love,

You'll need to copy and paste the whole link or just cut and paste the
last bit into yahoo's news.
Looks like somebody in the media isn't afraid to report the truth.
