Very True Mark. I've said it before and sometimes this issue is discussed at the annual SCI Conference in closed sessions. Those in pain are likely candidates for abuse. When it happens, it happens hard and often discovered much later than ABs with drug abuse problems. Hence, it becomes a very personal relationship with one's doctor to determine the best course of pain meds, how often and when. Its a very sensitive issue and most difficult to judge the actions of others, but wishing the best..... W
In the first couple years after my accident I thought people that were on pain meds were just using sci as an excuse but I soon realized how wrong I was. I hate taking pills I feel like a freakin junkie but I function so much better when I take them. The ones that don’t get should be extremely glad they don’t.
