I agree with what Wheelchair has to say.If you're using a power 'chair use a
dual post lift
Ricon/VMI has a Lift called a 'Slide-A-way' that might be of help to you. My
fear with that lift is the Ricon stopped making it and redesigned it and
hopefully they improved it. Look at Braun Ability's website and evaluate which
of their lifts appeal to you and go thru VMI's site for Ricon Lifts and see
which model may be of benefit to you or which one appeals to you and Wheelchair
or myself can give you 'for real' pros and cons. Wishing you luck.Tom Cusack

Bobbie, you have a Braun VanGater ? Single post lifts allow faster access to
the middle of a van as the platform fold in half. Personally, I did not like
it then and I still don't like it. But that is me. Lifting someone in an
electric wheelchair requires two arms. Solid platforms allow for better weight
distribution for lifting. Single arm lifts apply pressure to a single, square
foot of one side of the van. The leaf spring on the lift side should be
supported with an additional leaf. Often, because of cost it is not done and
eventually it will cause the passenger side will lean further to one side. How's
your van holding up?Best Wishes In a message dated 9/23/2015 3:39:03 P.M.

What kind of platform lift to all of you have? I have a Braun single post.
What don't you like about them and what do you like about them?
