OK, this is what I did:

I booted from the HD into 8.1. With Extension manager, I turned off
EVERYTHIHNG (control panels, extensions, etc.) _except_ for the
cd-sunrise extension. I rebooted the computer and the only thing loaded
was that single extension. When I put my OS 8.0 cd into the drive, it
came right up.

Sooo it appears that this single extension is the only thing needed in
at least 8.1. Is there something different between 8.0 and 8.1 and how
it handles CD's?

Also, my system is 8.1. Why can't I just create a boot floppy with files
from this system?
