It is the Centris 610 that came before that has the 68LC040. The Quadra 610 runs the 68k Mac software well and there is still a lot of software out there that runs with a 68k Mac. Also yeah one is better off buying one of the older PPC Macs than trying to find a PPC upgrade card for one the Quadras. Check the Swap list for parts, older Macs and older software.
