Unfortunately not as I had a Kit-in-a-box with just a parts list so have no
idea which way round they might have been had they actually come from a car.

The sluggish seat belt problem on the driver's side has been reported before on
H4s and I have also heard it said of Fiestas. When my belts came through the
hole in the tub as provided, both sides stuck. I moved the top anchor onto the
anti-roll bar and cut a slot in the side of the tub so that the belt goes
straight up and this cured the sticking problem but not the angle problem as
previously described.

  Hello Hamish
Can you confirm that your H4 has the passenger seatbelt assembly on the
drivers side and vice versa as per the build manual?
  Thanks
  Stuart

I have had this problem but only on the driver's side and ultimately solved
it by removing the side panel and freeing up the mechanism to enable the belt
to be pulled out. Whilst the side was off, it was possible to find the angle
at which the belt was supposed to operate by moving it until the ball sat in
the middle of its cup and then set this angle up in the vehicle - in my case,
vertical to within a few degrees. On mine, the drivers side belt will not come
out at all if the vehicle is parked on a slope - great as our drive has quite a
steep slope to it.

Any fiddling with seat belt mechanisms should be followed by a series of
tests to ensure that the mechanism still operates according to its
specifications.

On my Beauford I have fitted XJ6 seats and matching seat belts and with these
it was possible to move round the attachment for the locking mechanism until
the angle suited the installation. Maybe this only occurs on larger versions
of the seat belts?

  Good luck,

  Hamish

I have just removed the drivers seatbelt which had started working
again and replaced it with a brand new seatbelt assembly but i cant
get it to unlock? To make things worse the old one also wont unlock
now either so i have no seatbelt.
    Any suggestions?
    Thanks
    Stuart

fitted the drivers seatbelt to the passenger side and the passengers one to the
drivers side. Nice, looks like i will need to buy a passenger one too!

there isn't enough room, my rachet is catching on the gas ram. The torx i have
