cheers for the reply's guys,
good tip on the bonnet Jim, im paranoid about cracking the bodywork
and don't want to slam it, ill dare to open it tomorrow and give it a
good oil and try pushing in the centre, makes sense so that may be a
job to tick off the list.
I may try to come up with some better fixings to locate the edges too,
sounds like a plan

I had thought about the seat belt reel angle and will investigate but
I still don't know how to access it? anyone care to share the info?
before I start ripping the carpet off (mind you its tatty anyway so
could to with replacing)

on the subject of tatty the soft top is looking tired, anybody know
where to get a new one cheep?,

oh and where do I get the door cards that go up to the door glass?
mine stop about an inch below and look a bit retro with the body
colour showing?

cheers for the wiring tip Andy ill look into that just as soon as ive
rewired the rear lights (oh joy, ford wiring is little better that
Peugeot wiring ) ho hum

cheers for everything guys
