This is a general question not directly Q related. I am investigating and researching a couple of turbo projects. The first question is does anyone know if there are any differences bewteen a petrol and diesel turbo? I presume the wastegate valve will vary, but that would also be the case between different petrol types, I would assume. One potential project is a Peugeit 306 1600 engine for my nephew, the other, which is real pie in the sky, is my Xtreme. Have read Jim's Zetec turbo article a while ago and need to look at it again.
The second question is; does flow have to be considered in deciding which turbo? At first I thought that if a diesel was used with lower engine RPM it would require a lower flow (capacity times engine speed proportion) however further thinking seems that this wouldn't be the case as the higher the engine RPM the higher would be the turbine speed, therefore increasing flow. If anyone can shed any more light on this woudl appreciate it. Thanks Nigel -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
