A CVH turbo from an Escort or Fiesta RS Turbo should bolt straight on
to the Sierra box.
This would get your Xtreme started down the turbo route without too
much expense or head-scratching.

As it happens, I've just removed an Escort S2 RST one in order to fit
a turbo diesel.
It's just cluttering up my garage now. Along with a lot of spares
etc.

I managed to get it all out pretty much intact, so all the extra
gubbins is still attached - fuel metering unit, pressure regulators,
my own swirl pot, manifolds, oil feeds, oil-water heat exchanger, etc.
Still got to remove the ECU-related wiring from the car itself, but
shouldn't take too long.

I only ever ran it at 0.55 - 0.6 bar boost, which netted around
155bhp. Not bad for a 1600!
Other people have managed to go a lot higher than that.
