Just checked and found a screw in connection at bottom of inlet manifold, 1
connection is bunged off 1 connection goes to bottom of plastic 3 connection
crankcase breather unit, that bunged connection I presume is the temp one you
referred to. Thanks again Jim. Calum.

The original air filter would have had a vacuum pipe from the inlet manifold to

With the K&N fitted this outlet from the manifold should have been blanked off.
The would have also been a vacuum pipe up to the original crankcase filter on
the air filter housing, this should also be blanked off.

The temperature controlled valve i meant is screwed into the inlet manifold and
has 3 vacuum pipe connections.
It’s like a 2 way switch for vacuum, it connects the various cylinders in
circuit for different engine temperatures.
I seem to remember one delays the vacuum and the other sustains it, to give
some rough control over the ignition timing.

If it’s all working ok then leave it but it was the first thing i removed if
anything was playing up.

That was what I thought Jim, have K&N chrome filter fitted & have disconnected
the crankcase breather from exiting into filter/carb, fitted a small filter on
top of the crankcase breather part instead. All little vacuum cylinders on pipe
are still in place, must have a look for the blank your talking about, mine is
a manual choke too if that's what temp. sensor is for. Cheers, Calum

The traditional place is to T into the pipe to the distributor.
If you’ve still got the temperature controlled valve and the various little
cylinders (to do with emissions) between the manifold and the distributor then
make the T at the manifold side.

I always used to dump all that lot through and connect the distributor directly
to the inlet manifold.

Or, if the vacuum controlled air filter has been removed then you could use the
manifold outlet for that which hopefully is blanked off at the moment.

Ok, decided on 2 x cup style fittings on dash top , can someone confirm best
attachment point for vacuum pipe under bonnet for Vacuum gauge ?
Thanks

Anyone fitted the above, not sure on gauge location (52mm gauges), was thinking
