Hi Russ, I don’t recall if you’ve posted about the low oil pressure before (and I’m using a new computer so can’t access notes from before 6 weeks ago ☹. So forgive me if it’s going over old ground, but how do you know there’s a low oil pressure problem? I had a car many years ago which had (for whatever reason) been fitted with a sender which lit the oil pressure light at anything below 30PSI, so in hot weather was a pain because it was unclear if there was a real problem on not. IIRC the more recent Fords have an oil pressure sender which gives warning at about 3PSI, so if it has the regular one the engine is well on the way to being wrecked if it lights the warning! The sender (again IIRC) will have the pressure marked on it in pascals. Martin Scott Sent from Mail for Windows 10

However i now have what i hope is a good replacement ST170 engine which should be fitted in the next couple of weeks. When the old engine is out i'll have a look to see what was the cause of the low pressure but one thought I've had (which may well be complete rubbish) is :- could the problem be with the sump/oil pickup as the engine is now upright but would have slanted slightly when in the Focus, is the change of angle sufficient to cause a problem? Anyone done a similar conversion? Russ -- -- You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Quantum Owners Group" group.
