Agreed. However, gps are cheap, and give great time for you to deliver. 
You do need to have somewhere to put the antenna that has a view of the
sky.

That would be the server's cpu/hpet timer, not the rtc, since the rtc in
general have pretty bad timekeeping ( many PPM rate differences)
