Thanks for the prayse but sadly I didn't. I'm just some guy from London
who was probably the second person in the world to ever use it. I started
using it in what, 2002 or 3 I think? James sent me an early copy and I've
used it ever sinse.
I can probably say without being boastful about it, that I most likely know
as much of the program as James the author does. That is only seconded or
is that thirded? by arfy from New Zeeland, kind of my musical partner in
crime.
I wish i could program that well though, but as it stands, I'm merely a
piano player.
I did produce my first album entirely using QWs however, if that counts for
anything?

Hi, of course it works Raymond, he wrote the program, <sigh>.
Cheers!

Hi. What you have done is ok, but you can get QWS to give you the
instrument and bank changes a lot easier than you are currently doing.
Simply change to an instrument while having the track properties open,
and
QWS will fill in the patch and bank fields for you. That, is what you
put
in the instrument list.
When I got a new Roland keyboard last year and didn't know the banks,
that's
what I did. I would go to the beginning of the keyboard and change one
patch. That would put me on patch 1, bank whatever. Then, knowing that,
I
can work from there. Using the event list is very time consuming and I
hate
to say it, unnecessary.
All you need to double-check is that in your options dialog, alt o, o,
midi
in dialogs is checked. That will help you hugely.
Hope that helps.

Hi,
First off, I'm not sure if this topic has come up before. If there is a
website or an archived post somewhere that will help me with this
problem,
please let me know.
I was going to make an instrument list for my Yamaha psr-s700 keyboard,
because there are a lot of front panel patches which I do not use and
want
to start using. I would use the keyboard's sequencer but as we know, QWS
is
much more easier to use.
I looked in the keyboard's manual and could not find a reference
anywhere
of
bank and patch numbers. So I decided if I started from a standard piano
on
the keyboard, and start recording in qws, and switch to a patch I want
to
add to my list, it will record the controller changes the keyboard sends
out. Then I can go in the event list, copy bank and program changes, and
add
them to the instrument list.
So I tried it, and sure enough I got all the controllers, but there is
one
problem.
I don't have a clue how to figure out what to put in the instrument list
for
bank number. Here is the bank and program for the mega clean guitar.
Bank sel 1 0 8
Bank sel 1 32 0
Program 1 3
I'm almost sure that I need to enter 3 as my program number, but what
about
the bank? Can someone tell me how to translate the events above to the
numbers I would use when making the instrument list?
Thanks.
