Hello! For the first steps in XMPlay you are to open its settings - F9. There you can read all default keyboard commands and other stuff for using this player. For making audio you need MIDI input dll which is located in download area.
XMPlay has enough keyboard commands to listen to the music and i never use its eq or creation of play lists. But as to setting up the MIDI everythin is accessible. After you choose the SoundFont you can load MIDI file or folder and choos record instead of play. For thuis purpose please choose one of Wavwriters for output (F9 output). That's all for start.
