Thanks for the heads up. But how do you go about changing the tempo
on the fly? Is there a hot key or something? And is there a way to
test the tempo before recording?

In QWS, there is no need for arming or anything, just create a new
track, set the tempo, and start recording. If you're playing a file
and change the tempo while it's playing, you will hear the change as
soon as you make it. Unfortunately this can have two consequences.
It can be good because you know right away how slow or fast it will
be. But if you accidentally forget that zero, or delete something
you didn't want to, you'll be stuck with a very slow or fast tempo,
because its range is from 10 to 480. Of course you can change it
back to whatever you want, but it is something you have to watch out
for. Often if your tempo gets real low, it can seem like the file
has stopped because it is going so slowly.
