You know, as James already said I think someone should put an article up
there on how to use SFZ with QWS. Synth Font is easy enough, or at least it
was, it can still be done in my experience but it is a bit harder to set up
midi devices.
I just don't like it because of its lack of supported midi messages and
effects. I really don't want to have to load and create arangement files for
every file I make with it, since I like my midis to sound decent over many
different synths and not really optomized for one particular one, although
this often becomes the case, *smile*

Ya know, sometimes I think my brain isn't as sharp as once it was.
I've visited the QWS main page half a hundred times and breezed right
past the "articles" link without even noticing it! Thanks for this,
MIDI-Yoke was definitely the missing link here.

Take a look at this. For the record, http://qws.andrelouis.com has tons of
cool articles, not in the manual, and I learned what I know now from this:

OK, I went through the QWS manual end to end, searched it for the
strings "VST", "host", "soft" as in softsynth, found nothing. I
installed the VST Host bridge thingie, now what? Do I need to obtain a
soundfont player like SF2? I'm assuming the answer is yes. Then what?
How do I even begin to know how to set up an instrument definition in
QWS for this?
