audacity at audacity.sf.net is good
Loads of plugins and stuff the latest is 1.3 beta this supports vst etc and extra stuff.
If you get this, I can send you a free plugin pack I hacked for the stuff.
This is not anything alegal, but I have the plugins all in one place, these include free plugins and plugins from now dead developer sites.
I say this because of new laws over sharing.
They hack your mail and other things.
So need to explane things and such.
