Good to know. How good is the General MIDI implementation on it? And where's a reliable place to find it?

There's nothing you can do I'm afraid. You'll probably want to use another synth, Bassmidi version 1.06 is my favorite. It has the least latency and doesn't have any problems on any machines that I've seen. But version 2.02 is good too, just with a bit more latency and not much new that I can see. The only real difference is that the playback seems to studder less often when loading soundfont samples, but I'd still recommend 1.06.
