Okay, I'll give that a try.
On another note, are there any other handy sound sources that work like
BassMIDI that I can access directly from a port like this without using MIDI
Yoke or something else to get it in place? For one thing it'd be nice to
have a secondary sound font port there so I could load my Proteus3
soundfonts that I bought all those years ago. And a nice subtractive synth
or FM synth might be handy to have as well.

Easy fix. Turn off the midi clock. Bassmidi doesn't like it. Midi clock can
be found in the midi menu of QWS.
