Hi,
There are others, like the timidity Driver. However, that one has an extremely large amount of bugs. Program changes don't work on channel 10, and it has a host of other issues. I don't know of any other drivers.

Okay, I'll give that a try.
On another note, are there any other handy sound sources that work like
BassMIDI that I can access directly from a port like this without using MIDI
Yoke or something else to get it in place? For one thing it'd be nice to
have a secondary sound font port there so I could load my Proteus3
soundfonts that I bought all those years ago. And a nice subtractive synth
or FM synth might be handy to have as well.

Hi,
Easy fix. Turn off the midi clock. Bassmidi doesn't like it. Midi clock can
be found in the midi menu of QWS.

I'm starting to run into some interesting things in the program.
First, I'm getting strange pitch transposition and other such effects.
On lower tracks I notice that there's a problem with what I play
coming out a whole step lower than what I played, or sometimes a whole
step higher.
Removing all pitch bend (controller 130) data doesn't solve the problem.
I've also noticed a problem with response on percussion tracks the
further down the track list I get, and even importing a percussion
solo gets some sort of odd eight note quantization effect. I tried to
burn a fast timbale solo into a track and got some really poor
response, so trying to eliminate variables I opened another sequence
where I had such a track and copied and pasted it across. The quantization
problem persisted.
I'm using QWS on a Windows XP system with 2ggb of RAM and a 3ghz
single core processor, connected to an M-Audio Axiom 61 through USB,
in case any of that matters. I'm using BassMIDI with Onje's soundfonts.
