Type 2 isn't really used much anymore, so no real reason to support it. I
know of only one sequencer that does support it -- Voyetra's Sequencer Plus
Gold, which has been out of production for well over a decade now, though
it's downloadable for free at their site. That said, it's a DOS sequencer,
so you'll need a good speech synthesizer, a DOS based screen reader, and a
VAPI driver (their proprietary driver format) to use it.

Subject: Re: QWS List MIDI format 0 and MIDI format1

Hello all,
While QWS can support type-zero files, I tried opening a file called
_RD_00002.mid in QWS and got the message, QWS was unable to open this file.
It was then that I converted this type-zero format using another programme,
and after turning it into a type-one file, QWS was able to open it, and I
was able to examine the contents with ease.
Where can one find a type-two MIDI file, and might there be a later version
that QWS might support type-two?
