There's a type of MIDI file, Type 2, which is specifically designed for
pattern based sequencing. But it's a different approach to making music.
And I've already sent him a boatload of suggestions -- in fact I still
haven't heard back from him on my last one, so I suspect I overwhelmed him.
(I have this idea for a program closely associated with QWS for live work)

Seems to me, a veteran of sequencers good and bad, that this feature could
be tweaked just a little bit and turned into what some of us used to know as
patterns, then a pattern editor could string them all together in whatever
order, including repeats, that is desired. I know, more work for our dear
author, but hey, we need to fill his days with wondrous ideas, do we not?,
chortle chortle?
