Hey, folks, I'm going through a conceptual idea and I want to get a bit of reality checking from folks here. Let's say I have a port assigned to a guitar sound source, like something that can play samples of guitars. Let's also assume I'm using one string per channel so things like string bends function correctly. One of the headaches of this is that I'd need to send the same sound on all six MIDI channels, and sound selection and auditioning could be a bit of a headache as I can only change one string at a time, which is definitely substandard for getting an idea of the right sound. What I'm thinking is that I'd want to set up seven tracks on this particular port -- one for each string, with no program number assigned, and one with no MIDI channel assigned, so that it'd send in Omni mode. Then I could change the program number on the Omni channel and they'd change all down the line on that particular port. This shouldn't affect any other ports, as it's only dealing with that one port, so as long as I didn't put anything on that port it'd be an easy way to audition sounds for the track and get everything changed at about the same time. Thoughts? Problems you find with this?
