Hello,
I recently came across a type of Western Art Music practice called Minimal serial music, and one of the practices was the use of computer-generated noise sampling, attacks with drums and other sounds. The system was al based on algorithms and SSP Digital Signal Processing. You would have to be a mathematician to be able to write up scores and have them performed by computer-generated noise. Before the advent of MIDI-making, the music did not sound like pianos and guitars, but rather artificial soundscapes such as what is used on the voice's Seeing with Sound Project. I wonder if there is a way for someone to begin the process? I would like to experiment in generating soundscapes that reflect that early style of music. It might even be useful for further research.
