Hi, which Yamaha model do you have? My PSR-S075 also has 2 ports. I use the first one in QWS. I haven't found any use for the second one.

My answer to those questions is yes.

But, only one is Midi in, when You connected USB and there are two Midi OUT.

I have remembered My experience in 'ports' dialogue.

Okay, still the question remains, are there two MIDI In ports (the round 5 pin DIN connector) on the back of the machine? If so then this is basically two multi-timbral instruments in one case. And does the USB connection have one or two ports in it? If so, then the machine driver should give you two ports in the list in QWS, assuming they built the driver correctly.

Hello.

So, I have received message from Yamaha. This is normal, so Yamaha can record for example 32-channels. Due to this, there are two ports.
Another functions can be changed in midi edit settings.

Mostly to port one.

But, for explanation, I have tried It also with standard MIDI and
there are only those GM functions.

Another strange thing is, that when I have loaded It without drivers,
those ports are there and works. So, if I'll instal driver to My
keyboard, maybe It'll solve this problem, which I have, or not?

If Yamaha did something like this with no way to disable it then
they've made some very bad decisions.
Here's what I'm thinking is the case; correct me if I'm wrong about
any of it, because this is based on standard practice, but Yamaha has
a very long reputation for playing by their own rules. This keyboard
(or is it a module) has a USB port along with MIDI In, 2 MIDI Outs,
and a MIDI Thru. The USB is bi-directional, because they always are.
You said one of the out ports only sends note data, possibly Yamaha's
flavor of General MIDI (the XG sound set) while the other one sends
sysex. Does the keyboard output to both ports when played, or only
one? If it only passes sequencer data out of one of the ports and not
local keyboard information that's not an out, it's a thru. It's
possible that it's a combination out/thru, I guess.

Damien has right. We have written about It yesterday.

Hi Nicole,
If it's anything like my old Yamaha keyboard, it has one USB port that
encompasses one input and two outputs, the very strange thing being
that both of the two outputs enable or disable certain functionality,
and both provide different sets of effects on the sounds (the second
port on mine might sometimes even change the octave, which could make
things very confusing).
I'm guessing the first is for more GM based stuff while the second is
the vendor-specific port? I'm no expert on this stuff but it certainly
poses its challenges.
I've been trying to establish Marco's situation all day so I can try
and help him, not realising of course that virtual MIDI is different
to virtual audio, in that you can't seem to chain cables together.
Very frustrating.
Having said that, I agree with you in that I don't think that's his
solution - even if it were to be chained, because of the way the
keyboard sends, receives, and processes data, my theory is you'll get
doubled sound at best, or go into a feedback loop at worst.
Cheers,
Damien.

If you're using a hardware device external to the computer a virtual

ports of information on it.

Hello.

I have a question. Do You know some virtual midi cable, who can join
My MIDI ports together?

My Yamaha uses two MIDI port instead of one and some functions are
divided between those two ports.

Thank You.

Best regards
