I have found the Boom is best (at the moment) for alarm functionality. As Mnyb says, there is a problem with some implementations of WOL and the Radio at the moment, whereas the Boom works well with WOL (if that's relevant to you). I also find the autodimming feature works better on the Boom than on the Radio at the moment (but I'm running the beta 7.5 software, so my experience may be different from someone running the release version).
