Yes this problem does seem router firmware related, but it is definitely also SB radio related. One of my radios (surprisingly not both!) started suffering from this problem after upgrading the firmware on my router. I can't really blame the router firmware though, as ~every~ other wireless device in the house has had no problem. I have over 20 wifi devices in my house, several of them slim devices or logitech, and only the red radio gets a red wifi icon. :-(
