>From the looks of it, I’d say the original (kernel module and firmware
binary blobs) was 99% certainty built from a source package(s). With the
exception of, perhaps, calData_ar6102_15dBm.bin. That is my
interpretation of the commit history:

The ‘binary blobs’ poky recipe, used by the community firmware, was
created fairly late in the day.

It would not surprise me to find a ‘too small buffer’ somewhere, but
that’s just idle speculation.
