   AusAID, the Australian Agency for International Development, manages the
   Australian Government's official overseas aid program.  Working in
   partnership with developing countries in sectors such as health,
   education, governance, infrastructure, agriculture and rural
   development, AusAID's objective is to advance Australia's national
   interest by assisting developing countries to reduce poverty and achieve
   sustainable development.

   The Development Cooperation Section of the Australian Embassy is seeking
   to appoint an Administration Manager to work as part of a team of 7
   Australian and 22 PSU (Program Support Unit) staff whose task it is to
   manage the Australian Government's multi-million dollar aid program to
   Indonesia.  This is a high-level administrative position which includes
   responsibility for all aspects of human resources management of the
   Section and which reports directly to the Counsellor, DC.

   Duties of the position include:
   Overall personnel management of the Section including maintenance of
   good personnel records, management of PSU staff recruitment processes,
   provision of advice on salaries and other terms and conditions of
   employment for both Australian and PSU staff, assessment of training
   needs of PSU staff, management of the PSU performance appraisal system,
   preparation of an annual PSU staff development plan, liaison with senior
   embassy officials and Head Office Canberra on a range of issues.
   Undertaking of various 'ad hoc' administrative tasks for the Counsellor
   (DC) and the supervision of the Office Management Unit.

   Applications should briefly address in one or two paragraphs the
   following selection criteria or they will not be considered for an
   interview.
   ·  Extensive work experience in office administration especially in
   human resources management and development
   ·  Strong analytical and research skills and the ability to give sound
   advice on complex or sensitive issues
   ·  High level communication, interpersonal and teamwork abilities,
   including proven ability to liaise effectively with senior officials
   ·  Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise initiative
   ·  Computer literacy (word processing and spreadsheet)
   ·  Understanding of Australian Government administrative processes and
   procedures
   ·  Relevant tertiary qualifications
   ·  Knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia an advantage
   Eligibility of the position:
   ·  An Australian Public Service Background and knowledge of overseas
   conditions of service issues highly desirable.
   Conditions:
   ·  The position will be on a contract basis for a twelve-month period
   with no entitlement to paid leave, and payment based on time actually
   worked.
   ·  The occupant will be expected to maintain regular hours of attendance
   to be mutually agreed.
   ·  The rate of payment will be fixed at the minimum of the Broadband 1
   APS4 level range in the Australian Public Service.
