Hi everyone!

this is my first post to this list, and I love the idea of a plugin
architecture. I've looked at the code and the highly interdependent
layers of code did not encourage me to dive into it :-)

A python interface would be awesome, and by using numpy/scipy I do not
think the performance would be that bad.
