If you have RBG11, perhaps test using a Gateway target table created
with CREATE INMEMORY TABLE targetTable ...
I've used this on some very large XLSX and .CSV data sets with success.

In general loading Excel files is not very fast, but it should not stop loading.
Have you tried to save the Excel file as an CSV file and then load the CSV file
using gateway or using the LOAD command
