Larry: I have them set up to run one copy of R:Base 7.1 installed on the server, with the -a switch. So the server is doing more than just dishing up the database. BTW: just got an email from them asking me for the cost of upgrading to 7.6, so I sent that over to them.... That's a shock! Karen R:Base runs on the workstations, not the server (no server component to R:Base unless you are running the C/S version). As long as the file server serves up the files when requested, R:Base shouldn't care whether it's Windows 1842, Windows 2008, or even a Linux SAMBA box. If they actually run R:Base on the server itself (bad practice to run user applications on the server, but sometimes you may have a maintenance function that runs there), you need to check out and see whether it runs -- but I'd be flabbergasted if something that run on 2003 doesn't run on 2008 (that's not definitive, of course - I'm flabbergasted a lot). -- Larry
