Paul: Boy, I wish I can remember if we tried changing the "direct print" rather than spooling. I'm familiar with this, know how to change it, so I would THINK I had changed it during one of our tests, but I can't say for sure.
I know in 6.5++ we had it spooling (yes, this is a network situation), and windows seemed to have no problem spooling these thousands of documents. They must have been releasing quickly. The user was able to do other things while these statements were printing. It would be interesting if there is such a thing as a "size" of a printed document that we could check. Perhaps the "size" of the 6.5++ report is smaller than the size of a converted 7.x report? That could explain why windows cannot spool as many of them? Is there a way to find a "size" or how much "room" a spooled document takes up? Karen > Sounds like the ‘Spooler’ and the way 7.5 was/is handling it.
