I would highly recommend Logmein. Not only do they have an app for that for the iPad and iPhone, you can also use it from any computer anywhere through Internet Explorer, Firefax, Safari, etc to remotely access your machine.. I easily run 3 other locations from here, home or the beach with logmein. Not to mention how easy it is to print locally or transfer files ( I had a lot of trouble setting up printing with iTeleport). The only downside, if any, is you can only have 1 user on a machine at a time. If you are looking for multi user then you need to go with Terminal Server or Citrix.
