As Steve (Vellella) said, this Steve (Wills), hasn't read all the messages.
However, I recall doing a lot of research in this area last winter.
Although I'm not current on that work, I seem to recollect some
subtle-but-perhaps-for-some-substantial different behaviors.

F/ex, as Steve indicates and if my memory serves, if there is no
"connection" to a table, that is, no COLUMN-Fields located and no COLUMNs
associated w/a FORM.Variable, then any "events" triggered at the table level
don't get triggered - the table is "un-touched", as it were. This only
seems logical/appropriate, IMO.

It seems that, and again, if my memory serves, f/some reason I had to have
an association w/the table - maybe that was the only way f/the "... FOR 1
ROW" option to be executed/effective. Anyway, f/whichever TABLE.Field I
located on the form, I set the automatic replace option to Y||T.

Well, I know that what I am trying to say is wretchedly incomplete, but it's
been a while since I looked in to this and I don't even know if the
test/learning code & forms ended up being included in my current
application-body. So, I apologize f/the incompleteness. However, maybe
it'll prompt someone else to offer more specific (and therefore more
helpful) information.

Later,
Steve in Memphis
