My touring bike has Paul levers and disc brakes, so not exactly apples to oranges here. But I am somewhat soured on the Aztec cable I installed last year and am thinking about going back to old line stuff.
The cables shift super smooth no doubt. But the segments of the cables are such that I would either have to cut them too short - not an option in any event - or let them be to be a little too long. Even with a few zip ties here and there on the bike, the cable still hangs off the frame. I fear it is only a matter of time before something comes off the road and gets caught between the cable and the frame causing some sort of maintenance issue when the bike and I are in the middle of nowhere.
