For me, swapping the pulleys made a world of difference. I'm on the 9-speed though. I'd have to look up the numbers, but the range I have is the same as your's in the rear and in the front is Riv's standard triple set up. I love the 34 in the rear, as I can stay in the middle front ring for 90% of my riding, which includes a lot of single track and bikepacking single track. Bike packing is when I drop to the granny gear, but I find that with the 34t rear is too slow, and I may as well get out and push at that point since at those speeds I don't have any momentum to get over obstacles.
