deeply disturbed..ha! That's funny.

1. *I use Silver bar ends on my Blue 2013 Sam* with the stock RBW build of
the time Deore front derailer and Deore rear derailer, both, with a
non-stock 8-speed Hyperglide cassette, that I got from the RBW site and
everything works great. I do get some auto shifting on the cassette, and
the chain sometimes jams when shifting into the big ring on the stock
Sugino XD triple crank. But that all may be operator error. It all works
just fine, though. Nothing to complain about.

2.* I also use Silver bar ends with my Bleriot* and a Microshift triple
9-speed front derailer, SunXCD rear derailer, an SRAM 8-speed cassette and
chain and a Sugino triple crankset, and that setup seems to work better so
far. But its a different bike and drivetrain. The SUNxcd derailer is like
230 grams or something, so probably much lighter than an Altus (314 or
something? I think) but significantly more expensive. I like all silver
colored derailers so I got those. I also don't like putting any
heavier components on a bike than I have or need to. Hard enough for me to
haul up hills without making it any more difficult. So why do it if the
price is doable? Anyway, I like those derailers. You may, too. You can
peruse the Microsoft triples down the page here:
http://www.microshift.com.tw/road_non.html

SUN Xcd rear derailer here: http://sunxcd.net/rearder/

If I ever upgrade the derailers on the Sam, I will probably get the SUNxcd
rear and Microshift 8 speed, unless I find anything that I'd like to try
better.
I think RBW has a front derailer that's all silver too by IRD here:
