Amen, Patrick. We've been TV-free since 2006, right after my second daughter was born. Will never go back.
And the kids don't have phones, video games, or iPads. But they have more bookshelves chock full of books than their parents do, and a big old fashioned chalk board salvaged from school trash to draw on.
