Late to the party, but I will share a couple thoughts. By all accounts the P&S rack is nice, but it is also as expensive as a custom porteur rack and the more adaptable a rack is, generally the more flexible and heavier it will be. Depending on your goal and price point, there are a couple CETMA racks that are similar function and cheaper, if more crude ( http://cetmacargo.com/pages/cetma-racks-info), and Wald has a giant rack-sket now ( http://www.waldsports.com/index.cfm/store/front-baskets/257-ewalde28099s-multi-fit-front-rack/) that is way cheaper than anything similar.
