I was just going by comments made during the single early research
conversation I had with Dave, which I could have very easily
misunderstood.  When I asked him about recommendations for the AHH build,
it was the same component set as used for the drop bar Sam.

That isn't quite what I was looking for.  I was looking for a bit more
upscaled build kit, which doesn't really fit with that more value oriented
kit.  That is what led to the component selection questions in this thread.

I will revisit it and request a higher level component list, even if the
parts are priced separately instead of as a combined kit.
