I ride about 4000 mi/year. My oldest and most frequent riding buddy probably a bit more than half that. I only ride soft tires. He mostly rides city/tough tires. I average less than one flat/year. He seems to average about two/year. Maybe the difference is I pay more attention to where I put my tire.
