What's wrong with Berthoud mudflaps? Too heavy? Theyre super tough.. you 
probably should  treat the leather first, but if you want to be 
matchy-matchy get the berthouds. The tweedy ones are nice-looking but for 
something that's gonna get dirty the tweed seems a bit twee to me.
