I rarely use sweeteners, but when I do, it's usually a little xylitol. I 
make sure it's made from natural sources (like hardwood trees or similar, 
not made in some Monsanto lab). It's naturally preventative for tooth 
decay, much lower in calories, and doesn't cause an insulin spike like 
sugar does. You do need to be careful if you have a dog, however, as it is 
toxic to dogs.
