Several people have described this experience on the list. I've found, as have others, that sometimes you relieve, not only your seat, but your shoulders, arms, and hands by moving the saddle back to get more of an angle between hip and pedals, and let your torso muscles hold more of your torso's weight.
This happens not only with drops but with bars of all sorts, IME.
