I haven’t raced in over twenty years, but when I did it was not with DT shifters, 32 Paselas, and 36 spoke box rims. So, in my mind the Roadini is not a “stripped down racer.” I can put fenders, lights and a rack on it, but that doesn’t make it a randonnuese or touring bike either. YMMV.
