San Francisco Randonneurs hosts a ton of "long rides to nowhere". They are delightful people and the routes are mostly delightful as well, regardless of what you may think about endurance cycling. Possibly the most appealing part of the SFR Calendar, and perhaps the most Rivvish of these events is their Adventure Series, which is a full brevet Series (200, 300, 400, 600) featuring a TON of climbing and long sections of unpaved riding. I did the Marin Mountains 200k last Fall and it was my hardest single day on a bike, without question. Bryan, who runs the Adventure Series, did a bunch of work with Jenny to make this promotional video. They held a first showing last night, and now the link is live. (yes, I did see Manny there) Please check it out and share it. It's only 3 minutes long and I think it's really well done. It features music from Ennio Moricone (the spaghetti-western music guy).
