Tim: I enjoyed it, especially the stretch from Nashville down to about Tishomingo State Park in Mississippi. That's the hilliest section of riding and just about every 15 or 20 miles there is another clear creek or waterfall to cool off in. Lots of trees, great hammock camping, worth taking it slow. Don't miss the old CCC swinging bridge hidden at the back of Tishomingo State Park, especially because it leads to the last good creek on the route. Around Tupelo, you hit the mosquito line and the bugs start coming out in thick black clouds ready to eat you alive. Be prepared. Definitely take the bike path detour off the Trace that passes through Jackson, not only does it get you out of bad traffic, but it's also just a nice ride. The last 125 miles or so are hot and mostly flat and good for a fast finish if you have it in you. (I was ready for it to be over.) I'd do it again, but probably in the late fall.
